Concert 4 - BIMHUIS
Sunday May 31, BIMHUIS Amsterdam
20:30 - 22:30
FIBER Festival 2026 culminates in a double bill in which the structures of jazz and spiritual music are stretched, reworked, and broken open, featuring two distinct yet resonant forces: Abdullah Miniawy Trio and KUNTARI. From the emotionally charged, Middle Eastern–inflected contemporary jazz of the former to the latter’s dense primal-core, the evening traces the contours of this year’s theme Fragile Forces.
Abdullah Miniawy Trio presents a performance of quiet intensity, oscillating between spacious brass lines, spoken word, and electronics. Shifting between the expansive and the intimate, their work draws on spirituality and contemporary sonic textures to create a deeply affective listening experience.
KUNTARI approach sound as a visceral force, merging Indonesian musical traditions with noise, metal, and experimental forms. Percussive guitar, noise, avant-garde textures, and bodily rhythm collide in a raw, ritualistic performance that blurs the line between concert and sonic ceremony.
