About the artist
Formella is a London-born, Berlin-based artist moving across the full spectrum of bass-driven club music. Rather than adhering to fixed genres, she builds fluid, narrative-driven sets shaped by intuition and contrast, weaving together dubstep, halftime, psychedelic drum & bass, jungle, and textural techno through a shared focus on low-end physicality, rhythmic detail, and space. This sensibility was sharpened during her time at OYE Records, where deep, cross-genre digging became foundational to her practice. As a member of Femme Bass Mafia, she maintains a strong connection to soundsystem culture and the materiality of sound, co-building and co-owning a custom system. Alongside her club work, she develops an environmental sound practice through field recording, landscape acoustics, and spatial listening, bringing these approaches into both performance and workshop contexts.
