DIWA is a live AV performance exploring Filipino folk traditions, skyworld myths, and ancestral cosmologies. Blending kulintang gong instrumentation, polyrhythmic structures, and non-Western tuning systems with industrial percussion and granular synthesis, CORIN creates an electro-acoustic, post-industrial folk sound. Atmospheric textures evoke volcanic, oceanic, and mythological ecologies from the Philippine archipelago. Developed with VFX artist Tristan Jalleh, the visuals draw on creation myths and landscapes such as Taal, guiding audiences through immersive underworld terrains of eruption, depth, and transformation.
About the artist
Corin Ileto is a Filipina-Australian electronic producer, composer, and performer working across performance art, theatre, and club contexts. Drawing on a background in classical piano, her work fuses IDM, grime, EBM, trance, and baroque-inflected ambience into emotionally charged yet precise live performances. Her compositions explore hybridisations of Western classical and contemporary electronic music, often framed as speculative fictions shaped by sci-fi, club culture, and Filipino ancestral myth. Ileto has performed internationally and collaborates widely across video, installation, and theatre, while developing new audiovisual works and releases.
